the Sunday Stash

Those of you with little boy babies will understand that it is so hard to find cute things for boys. Which is part of the reason that I started sewing again - a lack of well thought out clothes and accessories for boys. So I'm always on the hunt for unusual and cute fabric suitable for boys, and my Mum as ever is keen to help out.

She picked up these two gorgeous prints from a small craft /$2 shop near her work. It's in this really dodgy shopping centre but the fabric and bargains that they have is unbeatable.

My Peppermint and a spooky coincidence!

The very kind Rosie from Melly and Me has made up my Peppermint - in my choice of colour - Orange. Now I know orange is weird and not very Pepperminty but I'm just not a pink person and I have a son. So I chose orange. You can see my very own Peppermint on Rosie's blog.

Now the weird coincidence comes into it w
hen you read the rest of Rosie's post and hear about her friend's new dog called Yuki. Those of you who have read my first couple of posts will remember that I have a dog called Yuki as well. HOW STRANGE IS THAT? Now my Yuki is short for Hiroyuki Sakai from Iron Chef, but I do happen to know that in Japanese it means white or light - which fits our Yuki well also as he is a blonde Golden Retriever.

Anyway here is a pic of my Yuki and I will post some photos of my Peppermint chilling in her new digs when she arrives. Thanks again Melly and Rosie.

the Sunday Stash

These lovely greenies were once again purchased from The Haby Goddess. I just love the lady bugs.

And it's green again! I don't know what's wrong with me!

Help for the Bushfire Appeal

The lovely Melly and Rosie from Melly & Me have come up with a cute way to help out with the Australian Bushfire Appeal. They are auctioning several Melly & Me flossies and pattern packs with all money raised to go to the Red Cross.

Please do what you can by either bidding for one of Melly & Rosie's items or going directly to the Red Cross website.

the Sunday Stash

OK, I'm organised today and I've taken photos of several parts of my stash so I can be sure to post for the next few weeks!

Here are some lovely green spots and stripes and flowers which I purchased from the Haby Goddess. Jodie gets some really cute fabrics and sells them at really reasonable prices, especially if you are a subscriber.

I just love the way the bottom fabric has the stripes along the bottom.

Hat fun

Although I have been sewing AWOL for a while, in the last week I have made two of these great hats. One for Little Guy, as always my test subject, and one for his little friend Jeanne who turned one today.

Unfortunately I forgot to take a photo of Jeanne's hat but here is a piccie of Little Guy's. They are an awesome shape and totally reversible so you can use some really cute co ordinating patterns.
