Urban Stitches Sydney - Part 2 - The Actual Day

Ok so back to Urban Stitches. This is an event run by Creative Abundance in conjunction with Under the Mulberry Tree. Four designers create a new and exclusive pattern for the course and participants receive each pattern as well as all the materials needed to complete them, plus a bunch of other awesome kit. As well as tutoring from the designers and morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. The designers in question are Rosalie from Rosalie Quinlan Designs. Melly from Melly & Me. Jodie from Ric Rac and Simone Gooding of May Blossom (unfortunately Simone was ill but she was there in spirit). You can read in detail about Urban Stitches here on Rosie's blog.

Anyway the day dawned lovely and clear. I was up at dawn despite being kid free.... WTF?? Fran and I headed off in search of breakfast and went for the healthy option of pancakes with a side of bacon. And a surprisingly good cup of coffee. Lovely view under the Pyrmont Bridge.

Suffice to say the day was awesome, inspiring, tiring, funny, we laughed til we cried (literally). The lady muscles were tested to their extremes while Jodie recounted tales of lady muscles which failed. I can't repeat it obviously (what happens on tour and all that...). Anyway if you ever have the chance to attend something like this .... DO IT!

Here are 3 of the 4 projects we had the chance to work on.

Examples of the designer's brilliant work.

Participants hard at work.

The view from our conference room.

And last of all - me and a few other (silly) people - Rosie, Melly, Jodie and Frances.
